Chatter Creek, Golden, B.C.

Well, I finally hooked up with Travis Rushton, AKA REM7600, from Idaho. He and his buddies were heading up to Golden for some sledding and I was able to get the time to join them. He had arranged for a guided tour near Chatter Creek, famous for some of the best Cat-Skiing Canada (maybe even North America) has to offer.
The are we rode in is wayyy off the beaten path and you need a guide to go. It is near a cat-ski operation but they are friendly towards sledders. Rules must be followed when riding near their ski terrain, but there is so much terrain, it is worth the ride and the wait to get where we were allowed to play. Enough talk, here's some pics.... |

We climbed to an elevation of just over 10,000 ft. The views were stunning. We then dropped over the top of Stovepipe Mtn. into another valley. The view we met was one of the most stunning formations of rock I have ever seen... |

We dropped down and then climbed up over two more ridges to finally get onto some glaciers that have never seen a human footprint. If it wasn't for the big iron we were riding, we would not have made it into this area. We were told that we were the first sledders to reach the area. What an opportunity for us to explore new territory... |

No breakdowns, virtually no stucks, and more than enough terrain for all 14 of us to trash and still have more to go.... What an awesome opportunity to ride where few will ever be able to go.... |
