The next morning was
sunny and clear. It looked like it was finally going to be a nice
day.
We spent the morning lounging
around the pool. Lyliane took in some pool aerobics. We
decided after lunch to go on a hike over to La Manzanilla - about 5 of 6
miles over on the next beach.
We weren't allowed to walk on the
sand around the rocky point as it was a private beach on the other side,
so we hiked up the road. The views of the bay were great.
By this time we had
been walking for almost an hour and we hadn't even made it to the next
beach....
When we
finally found our way onto the next beach (it is called Boca de Iguanas)
we were almost exhausted from the heat and humidity. It was nice to
get down near the cooler air by the water.
The yellow
house is on a bluff overlooking the beach. It is called "Coconuts by
the Sea" and is a B&B. The RV park is just below it and was full of
Americans and Canadians.
We walked about
halfway down this beach before we decided La Manzanilla was just too far.
Along the way there was this unfinished resort that must have been
destroyed by a hurricane or earthquake or something....
On the way back, we
spotted a small grotto or cave beneath the rock that the B&B was on.
It had some sort of shrine inside.
We
made it back to the resort in time for dinner, totally exhausted and
ready for an early evening.
